Paint and materials (P&M) is the third largest profit center in collision center.  To calculate P&M gross profit, the P&M cost is subtracted from the P&M sales on your repair order(s).  Maximizing P&M gross profit requires maximizing P&M Sales and minimizing P&M Cost.  Collision centers have significant control over both elements.  Most collision centers are leaving money on the table by failing to document, invoice, and negotiate refinish labor operations and P&M sales to which they are entitled.  In this edition of IMPACT Collision Solutions, our focus will be on how you can legitimately bill more P&M sales on your ROs and maximize that element of P&M Profitability.  To this end, if you are not using a materials invoicing system and are interested in increasing your P&M sales, please contact your ACS Account Manager to discuss the options available on the market that might be best for your business.
