Managers of collision centers want to get paid more for their repairs.  There is growing interest in, and availability of, estimate scrubbing systems (contact me or one of my teammates, if you have an interest in seeing this software) that make it easier to identify and write “not-included” labor and paint & material items.  While repair planning and blueprinting are buzzwords, they are successfully employed in many leading-edge collision centers.  However, ultimate success requires the discipline needed to focus on the fundamental steps consistently.  It often takes a cultural shift to putting as much, or more, effort and attention into the repair planning process as the actual repair itself.  In this month’s IMPACT Collision Solutions, we will outline a few ways to ensure that you are properly compensated for the repairs you are doing.
