Repair costs increase as vehicles become more complex with new technology, ADAS requirements, new finishes, and the like.  This has dramatically increased the complexity of collision repair databases and the number of “not-included” operations and materials that Damage Writers must sift through in order to write a complete and accurate damage report.  While there are many tools available to Damage Writers to enable them to write damage more accurately, it still requires their willingness to go the extra mile to keep themselves proficient with estimating database Procedure Pages and to perform the steps needed to identify damage, research repairs, document them, and negotiate effectively with insurers.  In this month’s IMPACT Collision Solutions, we will describe how collision centers can recover more of these added repair costs.
