Negotiation is an essential part of life.  We negotiate purchases, leases, contracts, and other life events either formally or informally.  Spousal, sibling, and parent-child relationships are often subject to negotiation.  Any agreement is subject to negotiation in one form or another.  In collision repair, negotiations are conducted with customers, insurers, vendors, employees, and other stakeholders in the business.  The fundamental principles are the same, but in this edition of IMPACT Collision Solutions, we will primarily focus on the three-way agreement between shop, insurer, and consumer.  Negotiation is the means to the end.  That “end” is an equitable agreement that will be honored by all involved.
