This month GMG’s message is focused on The Unexpected Dangers of Confined Spaces and Confined Space Safety. In the U.S. alone, 5,000 serious workplace injuries and 100 fatalities a year are related to “confined spaces” such as service pits, grease traps, crawl spaces, ductwork and storage bins. Workers can asphyxiate, be crushed, electrocuted, burned and more—and nearly 60% of injuries are to rescue personnel. How can you mitigate “confined space” danger, follow OSHA guidelines, and keep your team (and others) safe?
